Real lesson excerptA2 · Lesson 25

Say what someone can, must, may, or wants to do

Use these frequent helpers to say whether an action is possible, necessary, permitted, or intended.

Choose can, must, may, or want

Use kunnen (can), moeten (must), mogen (may), and willen (want). In sentences, these helpers change form: kan, moet, mag, and wil. This is a small helper family, not the regular pattern for ordinary actions.
